Drawing is a discipline in which ‘looking outside’ and ‘looking and moving within the frame of the paper’ is very important. Sources of inspiration are urban and industrial landscapes and shapes of the human body. Tom’s work consists of countless shades of black but he also uses colour in an exciting way. The artworks change as the daylight changes. Observations and impressions from spending time outdoors inspire his artwork. His skilled drawings may develop into new drawings as well as paintings. In his paintings he combines colour, patches and blots with lines to create several spaces.
